Winter Hits Hard as the New Year Arrives
14-Jan-10 - Bad Urach, Germany

From Texas to NJ from Europe to Canada, the weather has been hampering Chemac Inc's operational network. The recent severe snow storms in Europe closed major airport hubs and shut down some shipping facilities. In the NY and NJ area, on December 18, the weather shut down the regional airports tying up passengers and freight. Luckily, only a few Chemac Inc shipments were delayed as freight backed up during the busy holiday season. Not only trans- Atlantic freight was disrupted, but the weather in the US was also severe holding up shipments throughout the country. Even States that pride themselves on a warmer climate this time of year were hit by the icy cold weather. At the Chemac Texas facility, the "pond" known as "Lake Chemac" was completely frozen over for the first time.

As of January 13, the forecasts are calling for warmer weather and the recent heavy snow and winds will soon be a memory. The thaw may allow us to find one of our New Jersey service technicians that was left outside too long (pictured on the right). The warmer weather, also expected in Texas, will allow Rex to take off his winter hat (pictured above as the snow was falling in Alvin, Texas).
